I don’t know about you but January always makes me feel a little BLUE! 😩

The holidays are over and the weather in most places is rainy, snowy, cold, cloudy or just GREY!

Your team and patients are feeling the same way… which often leaves people depressed and looking for a change.

This can be a change in location, job, or dental practice!

Studies have shown one way to retain staff and patients is to show them how much you care about them and appreciate them!

With Valentine’s Day coming – it is easy to show you care without being too schmaltzy!!

This is a great time to show your appreciation and Share The LOVE!! ❤❤❤❤

Here are some simple ideas for you and your team:

❤ Hand written note from you mailed to each staff member letting them know how much you appreciate them – give specifics

❤ Decorate the office with Valentine’s theme decor

❤ Handwritten note from the Doctor and team to your best referring family thanking them for being so awesome – maybe send flowers

❤ Send flowers or heart shaped containers with small packages of the candy hearts that have messages on them to your best referring offices – MDs and DDSs thanking them for trusting you with their patients

❤ Buy lots of packages of kids valentines for your TEAM to give to patients all month! Have them presign them with a note to the patient (add the name once the patient is there) that they were an awesome patient, great brusher, wonderful behavior, etc. (Dollar Store)

❤ Have a Valentine Shoebox decorating contest for your team (like we did when we were kids), have pakages of kids valentines for the team to share with each other with personal notes on them.Have them place them in each team member’s shoebox or any small Valentine’s Day container.
❤ You can buy some small packages of the candy hearts that have messages on them and give them to older patients and parents

❤ Have a lunch brought in for your TEAM to celebrate Valentine’s Day and SHARE THE LOVE!

Rhea M. Haugseth, DMD maintained a private practice in Marietta, GA from 1982- 2017. She attended the University of Louisville Dental School and completed her pediatric dental residency at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital / Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is proud to be a Fellow the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy – National Honorary Organizations for Dentists.

Dr. Haugseth is a Past President of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry (SSPD), and the Georgia Academy of Pediatric Dentistry(GaPD). Dr. Haugseth has been a National Spokesperson for the AAPD since 1989 and has been frequently interviewed for radio, print, and national television.

Dr. Haugseth is the Founder (2013) and Director of the Atlanta Pediatric Dental Assistant School in Atlanta Georgia. She is also the Founder (2014) and Director of the Pediatric Dental Team Association. She is committed to pediatric dental team members and continues to develop ways to enhance their knowledge and skills both in and out of the dental office.
