About Dr. Rhea Haugseth

It’s not everyday you come across someone as passionate about their career as Dr. Rhea Haugseth. Dr. Haugseth has a long list of accolades that never fail to impress, but it’s her passion and drive that seem to draw people in.

It All Started in Louisville…

Attending the University of Louisville Dental School and completing her pediatric residency at Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio, is how it all began.

Since then, Dr. Haugseth has set out to help ensure upcoming pediatric dental team members obtain the continuing education they require to be professional and competent in the pediatric dental workplace by founding both the  Atlanta Pediatric Dental Assistant School in Atlanta , the PDTA organization, as well as operating her own full-time dental practice from 1982- 2017.

Dr. Haugseth has been a National Spokesperson for the AAPD since 1989, as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the Academy of Dentistry International.

Currently, Dr. Haugseth is a member of the ADA, GDA, Northwestern District Dental Society, the Southwestern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Georgia Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Haugseth is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and was an examiner on the board for over 10 years.

She is a former president of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentists (SSPD) and the Georgia Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (GAPD).

From 2001-2004, Dr. Haugseth served on the Board of Governors for the American Society of Forensic Odontology. She is currently a Fellow and member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, and an active member of the National DMORT Mass Disaster Team– serving Region IV as a forensic dentist (odontologist).

Dr. Rhea Haugseth is the Founder and Director of both the Atlanta Pediatric Dental Assistant School in Atlanta, Georgia in 2013, as well as the Founder and Director of the Pediatric Dental Team Association in 2014.

Dr. Haugseth is committed to all pediatric dental team members having access to continuing education that further enhances their knowledge and skills in and out of the dental office.
